Often, but not always, we decide to hold a bag sale during the last hour on the last day of our estate or moving sales. If a bag sale is planned it will be noted in our pre-sale advertising on our website and the other sites, print ads and social media that we typically use to market our sales.
Here's how they work…
- 30 minutes prior to the bag sale we will begin announcing to shoppers and to people just entering that the bag sale will begin at X time.
- 15 minutes prior to the start of the bag sale we will clear the house and outbuildings so that we can organize what is and what is not part of the bag sale.
- Another reason we ask you to step out is to create a "level shopping field" where no one can start stockpiling items in anticipation of the start of the bag sale.
- At the advertised time, typically 3 pm, we will re-admit you and give you a bag.
- You may take and fill as many bags as you desire at $5 each.
- You may only use the bag(s) that we provide.
- We will designate and inform you of certain items and areas that are off limits and not included in the bag sale.
- The items you choose for your bag must only come from areas we designate for the bag sale
- The items you are purchasing must fit inside the bag, within reason.
- The items you are purchasing must fit into a single bag – no double bagging allowed.
- We may look through your bags at the check-out tables.
- We reserve the right to remove items from the bag if they were not supposed to be part of the bag sale.
- It is a big job to organize for the bag sale in 15 minutes and we appreciate your patience as you wait.
- Occasionally, we miss an item or two that should have been, but wasn't, put in the off-limits area. We appreciate your understanding when that item is the one you put in your bag, and we must remove it.
- Remember: everything that is not part of the bag sale is still on sale! Items UNDER $100 are 50% off, sometimes more, even if they are not part of the bag sale.
- Items priced AT or OVER $100 are things we negotiate on during the last hour of the sale, or they are items for which you may place a bid.
